The iconic Royal Lancaster Hotel on the edge of Hyde Park in central London. The hotels panoramic views look over both the city skyline and the lush green of the park. This created the basis of the inspiration; the Hotel had two colour themes “Park’ & “City”. T4 were contacted by Studio Proof to assist with the bespoke decorative glass.
Studio Proof selected T4’s Moire Glass which is Mirrored glass laminate with encapsulated silk organza. T4 worked closely with Studio Proof and their fabric supplier to source the right shades of Organza for the project. The organza on both “Park” & “City” had a gold base thread that was then two tone so that at certain angles the colour changed to be either Burgundy on the City side or a subtle Khaki green on the Park side. The size and scale of the project meant that the fabric needed to be woven to order in India especially for the Royal Lancaster.
The beautiful silk Organza and Mirror bring both light and colour into the scheme, whilst the toughened face to the panels makes sure the glass is durable, safe and simple to maintain in a hospitality environment.
The project was designed by Studio Proof and all glass was installed by County Contractors.
